Mobile device blogger jkontherun has just been in NYC for the Digital Experience Show.

Whilst he was there he had a quick look at the Nokia booth and was very pleased to see a demonstration of Skype on the N800, available to download sometime in July.

RogerS, of Internet Tablet Talk, was keen to note that there is a “Buy Skype credit” option in the picture, which may mean calls to normal landlines and cellphones. Are you excited or are you doubtful? Make a comment for jkontherun or join in the Internet Tablet Talk discussion to let them know.

Quick update now that I’ve braved the 100-mile return drive and I’m headed for bed: I forgot to address the possibility of using the N800 integrated web-cam for Skype video calls. Based on my conversations with the Nokia representatives, it doesn’t appear that this Skype release will support it. In the future? That’s a definite maybe, but it’s also purely speculative on my part…
